Many people believe that we have to do more, to have and be more of something…happier, thinner, richer, successful. My work is entrenched in the belief that if we practice being more rather than doing more, our lives can be profoundly transformed in a wonderful way. This is a journey and not a quick fix; a gradual unfolding and evolution of who we truly are at our core.
Being is our spirit, our energetic presence, and how we show up in the world for ourselves and others.
The question, “How are you being?” is an important one. It is when we notice how we are being in the world that we can have access to shifting if we choose to. Are we stressed, sad, worried, frenetic, angry, scared, happy, calm, loving, joyful, playful? How we be is a choice. There are many things that impact that choice, and when we understand them and pay attention to them, we can begin to be more of who we really are.
The moment we can accept ourselves and others as we are, to judge less, practice compassion, to slow down and be present with each other, we naturally become more for ourselves and others. This is the foundation of my journey and work on myself and with my clients. It is not that we have to do more, we have to be more.
